Known as kettuvallam, which means a boat made by tying together pieces of wood, they were ones the primery means of transporting cargo – mainly kerala kerala stable crops of rice and coconut and even the mail and morning newspapers. Today, these study vessels have been converted in to luxury houseboat equipped with all modern amenities. Crafted purely out of wood, these boat are made without using a single nail

A house boat is about 118 feet in length and has a width of around 18 feet in the middle. The materials that go into the making are all local and Eco friendly bamboo poles, coconut fiber ropes, bamboo mats, coir carpets etc. The main wood used is "Anjili". The house boats have fully furnished single and 7 rooms with sundeck, private balcony with comfortable chairs, kitchen and toilet with WC. In addition there is also separate rest room for the crew. Traditional lanterns are used as lights. The crew includes a chef and two oarsmen. The cuisine is traditional Kerala flavour with the local specialities; delicious fish and prawns. There are single bedroom houseboats for two people and two bedroom houseboats for four people.

A/c Premium - Premium Houseboat is having spacious leaving area, bedroom, attached bath room , and Kitchen. Whenever require a/c is the specialty of the premium houseboats. On the boat the guest will get complimentary bear, candle light dinner, flower decoration, fruit basket etc

A/c deluxe - The deluxe houseboat is having leaving area, a/c bedroom with attached bath room and kitchen. The a/c is available during the night time only
